Faubion Middle School Scores High in Accountability
Faubion Middle School is proud to announce that we have earned our High Reliability School Level 2 Certification. The HRS framework, based on 40 years of educational research, defines five progressive levels of performance that a school must master to become a high reliability school—where all students learn the content and skills they need for success in college, careers, and beyond. The HRS framework does not add any new initiatives or replace many of the effective practices that already make Faubion a great school. Instead, this framework shows how best practices work together and provides indicators to empower districts and schools to measure their progress on attaining five increasing levels of reliability. There are five levels of HRS Certification:
Level 1 – Safe and Collaborative Culture
Level 2 – Effective Teaching in Every Classroom
Level 3 – Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum
Level 4 – Standards-Referenced Reporting
Level 5 – Competency-Based Education
Using the framework and indicators, districts and schools can drive permanent, positive, and significant impacts on student achievement by synthesizing multiple complex initiatives into one harmonious system.
Congrats to Mr. Perez!!!
Congratulations to FMS Science Teacher, Mr. Raul Perez, whose grant proposal was selected as a winner by the Mckinney Education Foundation (MEF). Mr. Perez submitted a grant through McKinney Education Foundation to bring a true 3D learning environment that will integrate technology into all science classrooms, 6th through 8th grade, here at Faubion Middle School. According to Raul, “We will be using the portable 3D AVRover system, our students will become immersed in a 3D learning environment where they will experience all the different areas of science (biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy and geology). Because the 3D AVRover is portable and easily set up in any classroom, all our students will be able to be engaged in critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity.” Mr. Perez’s grant is one of the largest ever awarded at nearly $7,000!
Again, congratulations to Mr. Perez and I’m excited to see the learning experiences our kids will receive as a result of this very generous grant from the McKinney Education Foundation!
