Campus Awards
Each year the Texas Education Agency groups each campus in the state into "Comparison Groups" based on criterion that place similar campuses into groups that can be most fairly compared based on research-based demographic criterion. The schools are placed into a group of 40 schools that are most alike across the state of Texas. These groupings help determine the overall rankings within the comparison groups and those rankings determine the coveted Distinction Designations, considered the highest award that individual campuses can earn each year based the State's Accountability System.
The following variables are used to determine like schools in forming Comparison Groups:
Based on the performance of FMS students on the State's STAAR exam, including all subpopulations, the campuses are ranked based on five separate domains and the most important "Overall" score for which the schools are ranked within their comparison group and Distinction Designations are awarded. There are seven possible Distinction Designations:

- % of students who are economically disadvantaged,
- mobility rate,
- % of English Learners, and
- % of students served by special education

This report provides the domain scores for each campus in a comparison group. It allows the user to sort by any domain score and see how a particular campus performed in relation to other campuses in the comparison group.
